Rock guitar pioneer Les Paul dies at age 94. I only know who he is because my dad has one of his guitars.

i’m growing up so fast, you’re missing so much! my cheeks blew up, my hair’s standing up like mama’s when she was a baby.
Not sure why my sister likes writing for Abby like that. She’s weird like that. But I LOVE the pictures she’s been sending me…like this one:

Update (April 5, 2008): Everyone’s knows of his “I Have a Dream” speech, but check out his very last speech in Memphis, the night before he was killed. Part one and part two, which is especially powerful and moving.

We bought a turkey fryer for Chris, my brother-in-law, for Christmas. We thought it was a good gift for him because he used to bring the turkey over to a friend’s house in El Cerrito, use their fryer, and then bring it back to his house 45 minutes away in San Ramon for dinner. I More >

Wikipedia mentions several things about birthdays.
The celebration of birthdays is not universal. I remember working with family who were Jehovah’s Witnesses and they didn’t celebrate birthdays.
Some adults loathe celebrating it as it reminds them that they are getting progressively older–which means, closer to More >

…and I’m not even in China yet!
I’m leaving for HK tonight. Guess what my last meal is…yep, Chinese food. I guess that’s what I get for eating with my family. I really wanted Red Robin or Mexican food because I know I won’t be eating burgers or tacos anytime in the next 5 weeks.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m so sad for those little girls.
My grandma passed away in July and what you said here is so true. Spend time with those you love, and always take photos. And record voices, that’s important too. I deleted a voicemail from my phone before I could save it and now I’m so sorry I don’t have my grandma’s voice to wish me a good day.
