Gmail Meter - volume statistics

I’ve been using a tool called Gmail Meter that just came out last week. It analyzes your Gmail statistics and trends. As if Google didn’t know. It’s just sharing the information with you.

Gmail Meter is an Apps Script which runs on the first day of every month and sends you an email containing different statistics about your Inbox. In a similar way to how recently introduced Google Account Activity gives key stats about how you’ve used your Google Account, Gmail Meter gives you different types of statistics that will help you analyze your Gmail habits. #

Gmail Fail

I was trying to send an invite to Derek and it wouldn’t go through to his gmail account for some reason. Then I couldn’t check my work email either, which uses google apps.

All I got was this:
gmail 502 Server Error

Then I checked downforeveryoneorjustme.com and saw this:
It's not just you! gmail down

Then I headed over to Twitter to see what other people were saying and a flood of messages were posted in the last minute. As I refreshed the page, I got this:
Twitter fail - Over capacity

That’s a “gmail twitter double fail.”

Multi-select and Progress Bars added to Gmail Attachments

Yay, google finally allows multiple file selection for attachments!!!  I’m such a nerd to get excited about this. You can send files from the same folder. Just hold down the Ctrl key and click on each file you want to attach. You can also hold down the Shift key to select a continuous list of files. A definite time saver.

You’ll not only save a few mouse clicks selecting files, but you’ll also see progress bars on each file as it uploads.
