Forget Google Reader, it’s Star Wars Reader!
Since Google announced it’s killing off Google Reader in July, I’ve been using feedly. But forget that for now…
Check out StarRSS. It’s a Star Wars themed/based RSS feed reader. It just looks like the opening credits of every Star Wars movie. The posts fly past you in space, complete with the theme music by John Williams. Click on the links and it’ll take you to the post. Check out what my feed looks like here.

Star Wars Day 2012
You know how my tagline on this website is “more geeky than girly?” Yes, I’m a Star Wars geek. I’ve loved it since I was little. So in honor of Star Wars Day, I changed my Facebook cover photo. You can get your very own Timeline Cover image at the Official Star Wars Facebook Page.

Best alternate ending EVER!
M is for Moleskine
I’ve been using these notebooks forever and I still love them. Check out the Star Wars Edition. I wish they had more Star Wars elements in the notebooks themselves, not just in the packaging.

Friday Factoid: Star Wars in Africa
The scenes in the original Star Wars (Episode IV) featuring Luke Skywalker’s home planet Tatooine were actually filmed in the Tunisian desert.
Some of the interiors and the courtyard of Luke’s house were filmed in a called Hotel Sidi Driss, a traditional troglodytic underground building in Matmata, Tunisia. For the die hard fans, you can take plan your own Tunisian Star Wars tour.

A Long, Long, Long Time Ago…
…I was born.
Looooove it. Sorry for another poor quality video from my phone. Thanks to Steph and Tiffany…sneaky beaky buying it behind my back. Back of card not shown on video, which contains a lot of notes from my former youth group kids.

Friends and Star Wars
So much on my mind lately. It hurts to be burned by people and jerked around time and time again. I don’t know what to say or do about things like this any more. My brother thinks that I’m just too nice. Many thanks to God for friends who have actually been demonstrating their care for me. I’m usually the one taking care of others. I miss being cared for.
My main love language is Quality Time. I’m not really into all that mushy-gushy stuff, but it’s neat to know about yourself and your friends. So, anyone wanna go to an A’s game before I leave this summer?
Anyone else out there who has taken the test before? What’s your main love language? I haven’t had time to read the book, but does anyone know if your love language can change throughout the course of your life or does it stay constant? Hmm…

Teaching
Saturday night was TAD: Teacher’s Appreciation Day. We were tricked by the pastor’s wife (yes, the pastor’s wife was in on the conspiracy) into thinking that we had a youth worker’s meeting. Instead, we found ourselves in a candlelit room with beautiful decorated tables and place settings. We had individual name cards, menus and programs. The meal included an exquisite prime rib dinner, complete with appetizers and a variety of desserts, including dark chocolate of course. Attention to detail was evidenced by the availability of horseradish and toothpicks after dinner. The service was impeccable. I sound like a restaurant critic, but they deserve the credit. I’ve never seen my kids so well mannered (at least to us) that I wondered why I don’t see that kind of behavior more on Sundays. Continue reading
