I heard that paperwork to collect unemployment insurance takes a while so I wanted to apply for unemployment during my last week of work– found out that you can’t apply until AFTER your last day of work.
After applying online, they sent forms for me to fill out. I filled them out right away. Of course, it got to their offices TOO EARLY. Don’t be too efficient, it’ll mess them up. They told me there were “problems” with my form and that I needed to call them.
I called their number, but said there were too many people waiting so I should call back later. Forget that– I called their number for Chinese speakers and got everything done.
