Martin Luther King, Jr.

From Ava Duvernay (director of the new MLK film Selma) on Instagram:

This is one of my favorite photographs of Dr. King. Unburdened. Fresh. With the future in front of him. Did he ever think we’d still remember him today? Did he ever think he’d live on long after his physical body was gone? I wonder. How do we live on? What do you remember about the people in your life who’ve gone home? Smiles like this one. The love they gave you. How they made you feel. On this day, his national holiday, let’s love a little harder, let’s fight a little stronger, let’s embrace the future in front of us. Wishing everyone a smile like this today. What a smile. What a hero. Onward. xo
