My day started when I woke up sweating and breathing really hard, almost to the point of tears because I was so sad. I had the worst nightmare that I could ever remember. I usually don’t have dreams, or rather, I don’t remember what I dream about, but this felt so real. I can’t even write about what it was about because it was so terrible, so terrible that I can’t believe I even dreamed it. I can’t imagine where this dream came from, but to say I was relieved to find out it was merely a dream is an understatement.
Next came a phone call from the lady I do research with. I didn’t pick up the first time she called, I figured I’ll call her back when I feel up to speaking with big words. She left an urgent sounding message and asked me to call her back right away. I did, and she was livid because she felt like the other person (who is a rater, like me) on this project seems to disagree with the entire premise of the study and is not able to code the data according to the measures defined in the study.
The lady on the phone was so angry she started raising her voice on the phone. I’ve never heard her like that before. I had to talk to her and tried to calm her down. I think she decided to confront the other rater. We’ll see what happens when I go in again next week. Sheesh. I wonder if certain circumstances would be able to make me lose my cool like that. I always try to be as professional as possible. I hope my threshold is a bit higher.
So I posted the following bit on another less read, more obscure site because I was a bit hesitant on posting it here that I know certain people read. I’ve already gotten responses where people have agreed with me in my choices and where people have been surprised that I’ve even picked out certain characters which I think are pleasing to the eyes. No, I never said they were ‘cute’. I would never say such things. I just said they’re pleasing to the eyes. So here goes:
I’ve been watching quite a few movies lately. I just saw Red Dragon and Chicago. In Chicago, I would have preferred to see a little more clothing in the movie. I didn’t think it was necessary for them to be prancing around in their underwear the entire time, but I guess that wouldn’t go with the style back then. On the whole, it wasn’t bad, but I can’t say if this was better or Moulin Rouge. But this guy and this guy made both films worth watching.
P.S. – Congratulations to Ellen and Derek. I hope to meet Aaron Matthew soon.
Talk to me, Goose.
