Google’s New Approach to China
•

Google has announced that they’ve stopped censoring their search services—Google Search, Google News, and Google Images—on Google.cn. Users visiting Google.cn are now being redirected to Google.com.hk, that allows uncensored search in simplified Chinese. They’ve also created this new web page, which will be updated regularly each day, so that everyone can see which Google services…

Tony’s List
•

I met Tony (along with a bunch of other photographers) in North Beach. He asked how long I had been shooting. I actually never know how to answer this question, but I said I’ve been taking pictures for a long time, but took a more meaningful approach only this past academic year. He asked if…

Beware the Brides of March

I gotta work on capturing smoke. It just doesn’t look the same in the image above as it did in person. The lighting in the image above was pretty harsh. I didn’t do much to the photo–just caught her as she walked out of the shadows.

I love using Google Reader. It helps me keep up with topics I’m interested in or stay up to date with my friends blogs without actually visiting every single one. I’ve tried to tell all my friends about it, but a lot of them still don’t know what it is or are too lazy to…

Tuesday Two: Froyo, Tart or Sweet?

My friends were talking about how frozen yogurt should taste. Many of my NorCal friends did NOT like LA’s pinkberry at all. They said it was too tart and that frozen yogurt should NOT be sour. Yogurt should be sour, but not FROZEN yogurt. What do you think? [poll id=”6″] I personally don’t like frozen…

For those who know me, I’m a huge fan of Saturday Night Live (SNL). One of my dreams, along with sitting in the Black Hole at a Raider game, is to watch a taping of SNL, but I’ve never been able to get tickets. I guess wearing my SNL hat will have to do until…

For my non-San Francisco/Oakland friends, this is Frank Chu. I talked to him for the first time and took this picture of him right before the San Francisco Pillow Fight last month. I couldn’t make it this year, but I was there back in 2007. I like how he was wearing a rose for Valentine’s…

Edit: I know Dallas IS a big city, but maybe because they have so much space, they can spread out. Because when I was there, it didn’t FEEL like a big city with hardly any one crowded downtown. After traveling to Ithaca and Dallas last month, I realized I missed the energy of a big…

Under a proposed rule published Feb. 9 in the Federal Register, passports will now cost $135, up from the current $100 to apply for one. It will cost $110 to renew one, up from $75. Interesting, looks like you can tell them what you think.
